please sub and like!!il try to reply to questions ASAP! you need a cross and flat head screw drivers AND a torx T8 security head, not torx T8 head!!! the torx T8 head is flat , the torx T8 security has a divot in the middle.
Changed the Drive of mine some Years ago and now i want to put new Paste in it and also change the damn Battery, but Heck, so many Screws. Some are gladly marked by Sony ^^
2024 💀
first time cleaning my ps3, that i bought used last year, more stressful than it seems, many tutorials but you had the exact ps3 as mine, the fan was caked in dust, was very scared that it wasn't going to turn on and play games after i took it apart , but to my surprise it did, the only thing i got lost on was the wifi connector, yours was different to mine and i completely forgot where it went, so next time i will take photos of the tricky parts as i go.. thanks for your help ..
great helpful video
just what I needed took the ps3 apart 2 weeks ago and got lost in the sauce
Thank you for the helpful video.
this video helped me change the thermal paste on my ps3 i noticed it runs better and it gets very quiet thx guy
Treat the symptoms rather than the root causes
thank you man! best tutorial !!
I wanna ask Can PS3 Turn on without Case ? So i don't want to use Case because Will make YLOD. Case Will make little Air flow and this Will make PS3 YLOD
What to do if “it won’t come off like that” the front part is stuck if. I pull any harder it might break
THANKS Now i don't need Case cause it make PS3 YLOD 😅
Very nice, as Borat would say 😅.
Does anyone know the torque specs for the screws holding down the pressure plates for the CPU and GPU for during reassembly?
Can changing the thermal paste fix ylod? Thanks.
Ylod is a motherboard issue, not a overheating cpu/gpu issue.
one of the better ps3 disassembly videos on youtube! used your videos as reference today on a ps3 fat and didn't run into any issues. everything seems to be working as it should now with the CPU temps hovering at around 72 degrees instead of 79+ degrees which was causing it to shut down. the old thermal paste was almost non existent after 16 years so i was lucky that permanent damage wasn't done to the chips. might have to do another round for my ps3 slim next but it doesn't show any signs of overheating so i might let it be... for now. cheers!
No BIOS battery on yours?
i lost like 7 screws cuz i had to stop for a week and a half or so and im reassembling rn and hoping it works
Tried this, still got YLOD
Where can i buy the set of screwdrivers needed for a ps3?
Is there a video for redoing the thing you did
I got six screws left over , is that bad?
What do I do if the screw under the label won't budge
Oh, there is a screw above that blue disc I was wondering where do I didn't screw it last time Today I will be changing thermal paste so I'll check it out
My PS3 still turns off after replacing thermal paste🤦🏻♂️any other advice
Does it beep? What color and in what pattern it flashes? I am going to change my thermal paste today cause I find that in my case its overheating
@@MrsMajkiis it better when you change it and how is your ps now
@@m-d-xiii9108 yeah, it is perfectly working right now Even better than for 5 years lmao
@@m-d-xiii9108 btw also clean ventilation cause mine was full of dust but it needed thermal paste cause after cleaning ps still didnt work
Did you have to tune it after the starlight pipe install? Sounds awesome
Emissions systems are required to be removed for this specific install- ECM tune is needed, among other things.
So Dollar Tree thermal paste is out of the question?😂😂
I’m hoping I put enough gold paste I followed everything in your video, earlier I pulled the PS3 apart and got to the heat sink the paste was damn near burned onto it, it’s a good thing I got to it before it got worse so now the system should not be pushing out so much hot heat but like I said I’m hoping I put enough paste. I got my game system from a friend who got it from a friend it’s the 2008 PS3 so yeah the paste probably was replaced once because the heat sinks were bent so I refix them and everything should work perfectly, I did repaste and old laptop first about 3 or 4 months ago it was over heating now it’s running cool with gold paste that I order off of eBay it came from a business.
2023 & my 12 lad wanted to play my copy of GTA 4 after watching countless RUclips videos of the game, when I put my old console on it would just blink Red & keep turning off, after finding this video & following step by step he’s currently playing it absolutely fine with no issues. I’m actually really pleased as I’ve had the console since it’s initial release & I’ve never taken it apart until now clean it thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol new thermal past & it’s like new. Time to put the ps5 controller down for a while &’play some nostalgic ps3 games. Thanks pal you’re a star, respect all he way from England 🏴👍🏻
Thanks man, saved the day
Why You not change paste inside chips? IDIOT without brain
The “M” usually stand for machine screw. That’s what those fine threaded screws are. I took a couple apart. Their slightly different. But this definitely helped re assembling. Thank you!
Hello 2023 ❤😊
Is it possible to replace flip door y nephew broke it lol
My
I bought my first PS3 at the beginning of the pandemic. It's a European version. I plan to do the same even though it runs well. I need to change the battery because it doesn't hold date and time anymore. And while im in there will clean it if need be. When i bought it ot was in prestine condition. This is the best video i have found that describes how to take a PS3 fat apart. Thank you so much.
And the PS3 slim is so sexy every gamer wants to marry it until the PS4 release date and so on!
This PS3 is fatter than Lizzo!
So.....much......thermal......paste
Could this possibly fix the yellow light of death?
☝️🧐 Just in case anyone doesn't have the complicated screwdriver to take off the one underneath the sticker , use a very sharp knife🔪 , and slice the plastic area that's just above the screw . After your knife passes beyond the screw , the top cover should slide off by then . It worked for me ✌️😁 .
hello is artic mx 4 good thermal paste for the ps3?
Yes that’s what I’m using.
wonderful work dud thank you
Great Advice! I have to back and properly grease a few systems I left the old thermal paste on thinking it would be fine (dumb arse!). Must be why my switch is still overheating even though I greased the fan but left the half dried up paste on it.
Another yeah later and another PS3 helped! Thanks mate
Hi i just put new thermalpast on my PS3 CEC-HL04 and have question, after I finish assembling got me left CU coller any ideas wher it's need to be? I dont see it in you video :(
Excellent video. Will be using this
8 years latter but thanks I made it work again after 6 years in a very dark corner accumulating dust hahaha
I pulled a full grown adult Sheep out of my nephews system
When you can’t even tell what screws are what in the video 💀
Even though it has passes 8 years, still usefull video. Thanks, Bro ! 👍🏻
